In the case of children and adolescents, the advances in neurotechnology, in its meaning of development of procedures or drugs for the treatment of mental illnesses, presents violations in the integral development and best interests if due diligence is not presented. In other words, an ethical debate is opened regarding the study, diagnosis and treatment of mental and neurological health conditions, whether the health, space for education and quality of life of those who are users of the medical systems are not safeguarded. This being so, its regularization in the Ecuadorian legal framework - taking into consideration its practice within Ecuador - is of prime importance, as long as its legal nature is determined, based on the best interest of the child.
